Word Warriors, Nepal’s first spoken word poetry group, and Quixote’s Cove Bookshop, are immensely pleased to announce that Phil Kaye and Sarah Kay, the internationally acclaimed spoken word poets, will be performing live in Kathmandu.

“March of the Poets: Phil Kaye and Sarah Kay in Kathmandu” will give the Nepali audience a chance to experience the magic of spoken word poetry.

Once you have booked your tickets, you can collect them between 2 – 6 pm from 28th Feb to 4th March (Saturday) from Quixote’s Cove office (location map and directions given below). Please bring an ID so we know we are giving the tickets to the right person!

Limited copies of Phil and Sarah’s books will be available for sale at the venue. Book buying and signing will happen after the show, so stick around!

******More About Sarah Kay******
Sarah Kay is a New York based spoken word poet who has toured, performed for, and wowed audiences around the world. Her first book, “B” was ranked #1 Poetry Book on Amazon. Her newest book, “No Matter the Wreckage,” published by Write Bloody Publishing, is also an Amazon Bestseller in American Poetry. Sarah’s TED Talk which went online in 2011 has already garnered over 7 million online hits.

She is the founder of Project VOICE, an organization that uses spoken word poetry as a literacy and empowerment tool. She has been touring with Project VOICE around the world, running performances and workshops to encourage people to engage in creative self-expression.

******More About Phil Kaye******
Raised in a California beach town to a Japanese mother and Jewish-American father, Phil first fell in love with spoken word poetry at age 17. Since then, he has performed in hundreds of venues in fifteen countries. His work has been viewed online over five million times and featured in various media outlets. Most recently, Phil was invited to perform alongside His Holiness The Dalai Lama for the celebration of his 80th birthday. He is the co-director of Project VOICE. Through his work with Project VOICE, Phil has worked hands-on with students of all different ages in over a hundred schools around the world.

Phil is a graduate of Brown University, where he was head coordinator of Space in Prisons for the Arts and Creative Expression (SPACE) and taught weekly poetry workshops in maximum security prisons. He is the two-time recipient of the National College Poetry Slam (CUPSI) award for “Pushing the Art Forward”, given for outstanding innovation in the art of performance poetry – the only person to receive the award both as a performer and coach. His first book, A Light Bulb Symphony, was published in 2011. When not on the road, Phil lives in New York City and spends his time writing new work, using 90′s slang, and quietly wondering to himself what the dealio is.
